We all understand the fact that Aadhar is eventually becoming the most vital document to keep with you. Now it is mandatory to quote Aadhar number to file income tax returns, to book train tickets, and to make real estate transactions. Over 88.2% of population, i.e. over 1.12 billion Indians have been enrolled for Aadhar card. Recently, the government reported up to 81 Lakh numbers has been deactivated to date, by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). There are different reasons. It may be deactivated if several Aadhar numbers are issued or discrepancies in supporting documents or biometric data.
Here’s how to check Aadhar number status online –
Provide 12-digit Aadhaar number along with security code and click “Verify”. If your Aadhaar number is active, it will display a message which confirms the Aadhar number status. It also displays basic details like your age, Status and last three digits of mobile number. If Aadhaar number is not active, it shows “Number doesn’t exist” at the end of verification.
Here’s how to reactivate Aadhaar number?
If your children’s Aadhar has been enrolled before the age of 5 years, also update their Aadhaar numbers. Also update their biometrics when they attain the age of 5 and again when they turn 15.
